VIETNAM CHIC ADVENTURE TOUR
Day 1: Arrival Ho Chi Minh City (D)
You will
be welcomed upon arrival and transferred to your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City
(formerly Saigon) for a 3 night stay. Next up, an afternoon private urban
adventure city tour. Later, visit the Reunification Palace, the
Opera House and Hotel de Ville. You may also visit the powerful War Remnants
Museum. Explore colorful outdoor markets and Dong Khoi Street, the city's main
shopping boulevard, with shops selling clothes and accessories by new
Vietnamese designers, hill tribe crafts, high quality linens and housewares.
Try Saigon’s strong Vietnamese iced coffee and a banh mi (baguette sandwich)
and enjoy the upscale nightlife that HCMC has to offer.
Day 2: Ho Chi Minh City - Cu Chi Tunnels - Cao Dai
Temples (B, L)
In the
morning, you will be driven to Cao Dai Temple in Tay Ninh. Tay Ninh, near
the Cambodian border, is home to the unique Cao Dai sect, whose patron saints
include Joan of Arc, Victor Hugo and Winston Churchill, to name a few. The
religion is a hybrid of Buddhism, Taoism, Confucianism and Christianity. The
Cao Dai Temple has been described as the Disneyland of the East.
The trip
to Tay Ninh is combined with a visit to the Cu Chi Tunnels. At its height, the
tunnel system stretched over 250km. Going from Saigon to the Cambodian
border, it was three levels deep, including a network of innumerable trap
doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons
factories, field hospitals, command centers and kitchens. Today, the remaining
tunnels have become a major tourist attraction, giving you a unique experience
and a feel of what underground life during the U.S.-Vietnam War must have been
like.
Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City - Cai Be - Can Tho in the Mekong Delta (B, L)
You’ll
drive through the Mekong Delta to the town of Cai Be, well-known for its
floating market. Here you will board your private sampan boat for a cruise
along the maze of waterways and canals. You’ll stop at the home of a Bonsai
gardener for a sumptuous lunch, including the popular dish of 'Elephant Ear
Fish'. You’ll rejoin the boat and continue your exploration of the tributaries
and canals of the delta. Toward the end of the day, you will arrive in Can Tho
City, heart of the Mekong Delta, for an overnight stay.
Day 4: Mekong Delta - Ho Chi Minh City (B, L)
After
breakfast, you will take a boat to join in and explore the floating market, Cai
Rang, one of the most exciting floating markets on the Mekong Delta. Following
this, you will rendezvous with your vehicle for the drive to the town of My
Tho, where you will visit the Vinh Trang Pagoda and the Dong Tam snake farm
(optional) before your return to Ho Chi Minh City for the evening.
Day 5: Ho Chi Minh - Nha Trang -
Evason Hideaway Ninh Van Bay Nha Trang (B)
After
being picked up at your hotel, you’ll go to Tan Son Nhat airport for a short
flight Nha Trang, where you will spend 3 nights in a private Beach Pool Villa
overlooking beautiful Ninh Van Bay at the Evason Hideaway Six Senses.
Days 6 & 7: Evason Hideaway Ninh Van Bay Nha Trang (B)
You will
have plenty of choices to occupy yourself during your free time, from
snorkeling and diving among the coral reefs to hiking nature trails to spa
treatments. Or, just relax on the white sand beach and admire the
unspoiled mountain and sea views, before cooling off in your private pool.
Day 8: Nha Trang - Hanoi (B)
You will
be taken to the Nha Trang airport to board a short flight to Hanoi, where you
will be met and escorted to your hotel. The evening will feature a
welcome dinner at Wild Rice Restaurant and an overnight stay at Sofitel
Metropole Hanoi.
Day 9: Hanoi City Tour - Victoria
Express Night Train to Lao Cai (B, L)
You can
spend the day exploring the fascinating Old Quarter and its hundreds of
specialty shops selling silk clothing, lacquer ware, embroidered linens,
furniture, bamboo, cooking utensils, ceremonial objects and more. You can also
walk around Hoan Kiem Lake, ride a cyclo to dinner, and watch a performance at
the Thang Long Water Puppet Theater. You might choose to dine in French
colonial villas converted into gourmet restaurants and enjoy people watching at
stylish cafes. And you will want to see at least a few of Hanoi’s
main cultural attractions, including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, his House on
Stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, the Fine Arts Museum and the Temple of
Literature.
The day
will end as you board an overnight train to the border town of Lao Cai on your
way to Sapa. The luxury Victoria Express departs at 22:00 p.m.
Day 10: Lao Cai - Sapa (B, L)
The train
arrives at the Lao Cai train station at approximately 06:00. There will be a
vehicle waiting to drive you to Sapa, which takes about 1.5 hours. Upon
your arrival, you will check into the Victoria Hotel in order to freshen up and
have breakfast at TaVan restaurant in the hotel, followed by free time to
explore the town. After a 10 a.m. pickup from the hotel, there will be a
walking tour to the hill tribe village of Cat Cat, home to the Black H'mong
minority peoples. You can also opt for a biking tour this morning. As we walk
to the villages nestled in the valley below Sapa, you will meet some of the
local minority people on their way to and from Sapa. Here you will have the
opportunity to share cultural experiences with the families that live in the
area. You’ll then return to the Victoria Sapa Hotel and Spa for a well-deserved
night’s sleep.
Day 11: Trekking to Hill Tribal
Villages in Sapa - Train back to Hanoi (B, L)
Following
breakfast, you will explore the Sapa Sunday market and then set out on a 3-4
hour trek that will take you along buffalo paths through the hill tribe
villages of Lao Chai and Ta Van, home to H'mong, and Dzay people. This is an
absolutely spectacular walk through stunning scenery, inhabited by some of
the friendliest people you will ever meet. You will stop for a picnic lunch on
the way to Ta Van village. The afternoon will end as you are taken back to
Lao Cai to board the Victoria Express for your journey back to Hanoi. The
train departs at 21:15.
Day 12: Hanoi - Bai Tu Long Bay (B/L/D)
After
arriving in Hanoi at around 05:00, you will be picked up and transferred to a
local restaurant for breakfast and morning coffee. Next up will be a
visit to Ha Long Bay, which offers out-of-this-world kayaking experiences,
suitable for both first-time paddlers and the serious marine explorer. Unique
and remote limestone islands sprout from the sea, making for some fascinating
exploring of the inlets. Many of these isolated islands feature
dramatic sea caves and sheltered, pristine beaches, which are best enjoyed
by travelling aboard a private junk and sea kayak, off the more common tourist
beaten path. There will be an overnight stay on the boat.
Day 13: Ha Long Bay - Hanoi (B, L)
Upon
rising to the sound of waves lapping against the boat, you’ll start your day
with complimentary tea & coffee, followed by more boating or
kayaking. After a buffet brunch on board, you’ll cruise back to
the harbor, disembarking at Ha Long City. Your car will be waiting to take
you back to Hanoi, where you’ll enjoy a one hour massage, followed by
unstructured leisure time. You’ll then spend the night at
the Sofitel Metropole Hanoi.
Day 14: Departure (B)
Your
Vietnamese chic tour will end after breakfast, and you will then be taken to
Noi Bai airport for your onward flight home.
“Cam on va chao tam biet quy khach!” Thank you for travelling with
us, we hope to serve you again soon.
