VIETNAM CENTRE HIGHLAND TRAILS

HCMC - Da Lat - Buon Me Thuot - Pleiku - Dekop - Quy Nhon - Nha Trang - HCMC - Mekong - HCMC

Day 1: Arrive in HCMC

Pick up upon at arrival and transfer to the city for hotel check-in. In time permits, we will take short sightseeing tours to have an overview of Saigon City. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.

Day 2: HCMC - Da Lat (B/L)

Morning transfer to the airport to take short flight to Dalat. Pick up upon arrival and transfer to hotel in Dalat for refreshment. Afternoon touring the city to visit places of interests: Valley of Love, Summer Palace of King Bao Dai, Thien Vien Truc Lam, boat trip on Tuyen Lam Lake for sightseeing. Back to the city and you will be free at leisure. Overnight in Dalat.

Day 3: Da Lat - Buon Me Thuot (Lak Lake) (B/L)

Breakfast at hotel and then leaving Dalat for Lak Lake in Buon Ma Thuot. Today you will stay in the LONG HOUSE, visiting villages of Jun and Le hill tribes. If time permits, we will ride on elephant to visit Lak Lake. Overnight at the long house.

Day 4: Buon Me Thuot - Pleiku (B/L/D)

Breakfast, driving to Pleiku. En route, stopover at Buon Ma Thuot city for drinking coffee and at other places for sightseeing coffee and rubber plantations. Lunch on the way. Overnight in Pleiku.

Day 5: Pleiku - Plei Bloum Homestay (B/L/D)

Pick up at your Hotel in Pleiku and en route to Plei Bloum you drive through many beautiful sights of mountains, forests and minority villages. Upon arrival at Plei Bloum you can have a stroll around to explore the custom and culture of Jarai Minority especially the poetic scenery of Ba river. Dinner. Overnight in stilt house in Plei Bloum by the river.

Day 6: Plei Bloum - Dekop (B/L/D)

Breakfast. Leave PleiBloum for Kon Dong by car then have a short trekking of 8 km exploring the custom and culture of Bahnar 4 villages such as: Dektu - Deron – Dedoa - Dekop. Dinner. Enjoy the traditional Gong music and dancing performance. Overnight in stilted house of Dekop.

Day 7: Dekop - Pleiku (B/L/D)

Morning free and transfer back to your hotel in Pleiku. Overnight at hotel in Pleiku.

Day 8: Pleiku - Quy Nhon (B/L)

Leaving Pleiku for Qui Nhon and stop over to visit a village of Bahnar minority named Dektu there you also stroll around the village to explore its Rong house and the graveyard. Continue on to Qui Nhon and stop by the national road 19 for pictures, visit the former 1st Cavalry Division and some former interested base camps by the MangYang  and AnKhe passes. Overnight in Quy Nhon.

Day 9: Quy Nhon - Nha Trang (B/L)

Free at leisure in the morning and then we will leave here for Nha Trang. Check-in hotel upon arrival and you will be free at leisure. Overnight in Nha Trang.

Day 10: Nha Trang Island Tour (B/L)

Morning boat trip to visit Mun and Tam islands. Free time for swimming and snorkeling. Seafood lunch included. In the afternoon, transfer back to the hotel in Nha Trang. Free at leisure. Overnight in Nha Trang.

Day 11: Nha Trang River Tour (B/L)

Morning boat trip to visit coconut palms, rice paddies, water buffaloes, orchard, vegetable gardens. Visit Ponagar Temple and take photos of the fishing fleet at the estuary, walking through a coconut village.

- Visit a fish cake frying house (you can eat cha ca and drink sugar cane juice)

- Ancient house: visit a family and see a typical Vietnamese country house with your own eyes an ancestors' shrine, a kitchen. Enjoy fruits and green tea.

- Get on a horse carriage to ride along the countryside road.

Overnight in Nha Trang

Day 12: Nha Trang - Saigon at leisure (B/L)

Transfer to the airport in Nha Trang to take flight back to Saigon City. Overnight at hotel in Ho Chi Minh.

Day 13: HCMC - Mekong Delta (B/L)

Leave Saigon for My Tho. My Tho is located on the northern banks of the Mekong river and is the closest town in the Delta area to Ho Chi Minh City, about 2 hours drive away. In the center of the town close to the river there is a large market that sells just about anything that can be eaten or is used in day to day business. Around the My Tho area you will find a maze of small canals that can be explored on one of the many organized boat tours. Enjoy a boat ride on the Mekong River and visit an orchard on an island, with lunch en route. Continue with a visit to a snake farm. Transfer back to Saigon. Free at leisure. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh.

Day 14: HCMC - Departure (B)

Leisure time for shopping before departure home.
