NORTH CYCLING ADVENTURE

Hanoi - Sapa - Lai Chau - Dien Bien - Hanoi

Day 1: Hanoi arrival (D)

You are warmly welcomed by our tour guide and transferred to your hotel in Hanoi capital of Vietnam. Check in and relax after the long trip. Enjoy welcome dinner and attend the Water Puppet Show. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi - Lao Cai (B/)

We leave the day to you to explore the capital city, Hanoi.

It will be a nice experience sitting in a café drinking a cup of rich, dark local coffee and watching the people outside of the window doing their business or on the way to work.

Otherwise you can take a cyclo or a walk around the trading area in the Old Quarter of Hanoi. As the oldest continuously developed area of Vietnam, Hanoi’s Old Quarter has a history that spans 2,000 years and represents the eternal soul of the city.

In the evening, your private transfer will take you to the train station of Hanoi, where you will take your night train to the border town, Lao Cai (SP1 21:15-05:30 the next day). Stay overnight in a soft sleeper cabin of 4 passengers.

Day 3: Lao Cai station - Sapa - Cycling tour (40km) (B/L/)

Arrive in Lao Cai, Unload bikes and meet support vehicle. Transfer to Sapa and have breakfast. Ride down Sapa valley. Continue to black Hmong village of Supan. Option: ride back or catch support vehicle.

Day 4: Sapa - Ban Ho Village (60km) (B/L/D)

Ride to TaVan village. Pass through valley and reach Red Zao village. Arrive Tay village BanHo. Return back up hill to track head home. (Return option at the minibus back to hotel or by bike). Dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at hotel.

Day 5: Sapa - Tam Duong - Paso (90km) (B/L/D)

Climb to Tram Ton Pass to 2000 metres. Ride downhill to Lai Chau province. Reach Tam Duong. Small break and continue to Lai Chau. Overnight at hotel.

Day 6: Paso - Lai Chau Town (90km) (B/L/D)

Cross mountains to beautiful valley and pass tribal villages. Lunch in large Vietnamese village. Ride into Lai Chau valley. Following river all afternoon to Lai Chau Old Town.

Day 7: Lai Chau - Dien Bien Phu (105km) (B/L/D)

Ride out of Lai Chau. Visit remote tribal people. Cross Mountain passes to Dien Bien Phu. Take tour of historic Dien Bien Phu. Visit museum, cemetery, French war bunkers and battle sites.

Day 8: Dien Bien Phu - Hanoi (B/)

Early breakfast. Transfer to airport to catch the flight back to Hanoi.

Day 9: Departure (B/)

Free at leisure until your private transfer takes you to the airport to take your flight.
