FOLLOW THE BATTLE FIELDS OF VIETNAM
WAR 22 DAYS
Day 1: Arrive in Hanoi (D)
Upon
arriving at Hanoi's Noi Bai International airport, you will be greeted by your
guide and transferred to your hotel. There will be a welcome dinner at a local
restaurant, followed by an evening water puppet performance, an art form which
originated in Vietnam at least 1,000 years ago. You will then spend the night
in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi (B/L)
You will
have a full day to visit Hanoi's main cultural attractions, including the Ho
Chi Minh Mausoleum, his House on Stilts, the One Pillar Pagoda, and the War
Museum, which focuses mainly on the French and American wars, and where you
will view the fascinating “Diem Bien Phu” presentation. Later, you will visit
Hoa Lo Prison (aka the "Hanoi Hilton"), as well as the John McCain
Monument. You will then have a walking trip to enjoy the Old Quarter's crowded,
charming, and energetic atmosphere before an overnight stay in Hanoi.
Day 3: Hanoi - Ha Long Bay (B/L/D)
After
breakfast at the hotel you will set out on a 3.5 hour drive to Ha Long Bay. You
will be welcomed aboard and set sail through bay while lunch is served. You
will be in awe of the thousands of sculpted limestone islands rising from the
waves like dragons' teeth. Later afternoon, you will visit an interesting
fishing village with the opportunity to interact with fishermen who have been
living in the bay for almost three generations. Back on board, you will enjoy
cocktails or a cooking class while watching the sunset before having a lavish
dinner. Some of the evening activities you can enjoy are movie night, board
games, or visiting the beauty spa. You will stay overnight on the junk.
Day 4: Ha Long Bay - Ninh Binh (Brunch/D)
You'll
wake early for a tranquil tai chi session on the sundeck, or you may choose
among a variety of activities like kayaking and swimming. After a buffet
breakfast, you'll visit Sung Sot Cave, one of the most beautiful caves in Ha Long
Bay. After you check out, you will head to Tuan Chau Island, and then rejoin
your private car for a drive to Hoa Lu in Ninh Binh. Hoa Lu was the old capital
of Vietnam under the Dinh Dynasty between 968 and 1009. You will have
unstructured leisure time before retiring for the evening.
Day 5: Ninh Binh biking (B/L/D)
You will
first visit Bai Dinh Pagoda, the largest pagoda in Vietnam. From here, you will
start cycling on the countryside road, headed to the ancient Hoa Lu Citadel.
You can explore the temples of King Dinh and King Le. Then you will continue
riding through the limestone peaks to Tam Coc, passing the rice paddies of the
Red River Delta. You will have lunch in Tam Coc, near the sampan pier, followed
by a 3-hour sampan trip along the Boi River to visit the Tam Coc Caves. After
the sampan ride, you will continue biking to the Bich Dong Pagoda, before
rejoining your car and returning to Ninh Binh for an overnight stay.
Day 6: Ninh Binh - Citadel of the Ho Dynasty -
Quang Binh (B/L/D)

Central Coast of Vietnam. On the way, you will stop at historical venues like
Ham Rong Bridge in Thanh Hoa and Dong Loc Road Junction. You will visit the
private war museum and see Mr. Nguyen Xuan Lien, the owner of the museum.
You'll then continue driving to Nhat Le Beach in Quang Binh for an overnight
stay.
Day 7: Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park (B/L/D)
In the
morning you will head for the boat station to set out on a trip on the Son
River to visit the 400 hundred meter high Tien Son Cave. Then you'll re-board
and set out to explore the 600 meter underground river, which is the longest
underground river in the world. You'll then head back to the resort at Nhat Le
Beach for an overnight stay.
Day 8: Quang Binh - Quang Tri - DMZ by car - Hue

leave Quang Binh for Quang Tri. On the way, you will visit the Truong Son
Cemetery and the Vinh Moc Tunnels, to explore the underground village and
tunnel complex that remains virtually untouched since the American War. You
will continue to visit the Hien Luong Bridge. The bridge was built out of steel
by the French in 1950 and spans the Ben Hai River, which runs 100 km through
the Truong Son Mountains to the sea. After lunch at a local restaurant you will
drive on the historic road No. 9 towards Laos' border. On the way, you will
stop over at Lang Vay Special Forces Camp, Khe Sanh Base, Da Krong Bridge, Cam
Lo, the Rock Pile, Camp Carrol and Ta Con Base. You will go back to Dong Ha and
visit the Quang Tri Citadel before heading to Hue for free time and an
overnight stay.
Day 9: Hue (B/D)
In the

Central Vietnam from the second to the thirteenth century. Their religion was
primarily derived from Indian Hinduism. This site is a must-see for those who
are interested in architecture and ancient civilizations. You'll then drive to
Hoi An. From the 16th to 18th centuries, Hoi An was a thriving international
commercial port for Chinese, Dutch, French, Japanese, Portuguese and Arab
traders and was renowned for its high grade silk and ceramics, which are still

spread out on the footpath. Don't miss the bustling Ben Thanh Market, the
