HCM City - Mekong Delta - Cu Chi Tunnels - Da Lat - Nha Trang - HCM City
Day 1: Arrive HCMC (D)
Warmly
welcome on arrival at HCMC's Tan Son Nhat International airport. Transfer to
your hotel in town. Welcome dinner at a most recommended restaurant. Overnight
in HCMC.
Day 2: HCMC tour - Cu Chi tunnels (B/L)
In the
morning you enjoy a half-day private excursion to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Cu Chi
Tunnels consist of more than 200km of underground tunnels. This main axis
system has many branches connecting to underground hideouts, shelters, and
entrances to other tunnels. The network included innumerable trap doors,
specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories,
field hospitals, command centers and kitchens. Today the remaining tunnels have
become a major tourist attraction giving the visitor a unique experience and a
feel of what underground life during the U.S.-Vietnam War. Afternoon free at
leisure. Overnight in HCMC.
Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City - Vinh Long - Can Tho (B/L)
This
morning you set off for a drive to My Tho, the capital of Tien Giang Province
72 kms from Ho Chi Minh City (Former Saigon). You will take time to visit Vinh
Trang pagoda, the most beautiful pagoda of the province with mixture structure
of many styles.
Then take
a boat trip round 4 beautiful islets: Dragon, Unicorn, Phoenix , and Tortoise.
These evergreen islands among the Mekong River still remain unknown to many
people. You will discover beautiful landscapes along the river and observe the
typical Mekong delta rural life. Stops on the way can be made upon request for
particular visits or photos making. Visit traditional house at Quoi An village
(all make from coconut). See coconut collection set and how locals make
handicrafts from trunk and shell, you can see that they waste nothing, coconut
even useful from wedding to funeral.
Enjoy
seasonal fruit and listening to traditional music. Take horse cart on village
path and stop at Ben Truc orchard, taste honey with tea or Mekong whisky (they
have a funny rule for you to get in). Take rowing-boat on water palm creek &
to visit coconut candy mill (special product of Ben Tre province). We will stop
at the home of a Bonsai gardener for a sumptuous Delta lunch, including the
popular dish of 'Elephant ear fish', before continue to Can Tho city, heart of
the Mekong Delta. Overnight in Can Tho.
Day 4: Can Tho - Ho Chi Minh City (B/L)
You wake
up to the sounds of the Mekong River welcoming a new day. Take boat trip to
join in the Cai Rang floating market – one of the most bustling floating
markets in Mekong Delta with hundreds of small boats barging and jostling for
space to sell their goods and to experience the Mekong rural lifestyle. After
sampling local fruits, our guide will escort the guests back to the hotel
through myriad canals. Lunch at local restaurant before return to Ho Chi Minh
City. Overnight in HCMC.
Day 5: HCMC - Da Lat (B/L)
This
morning you leave Ho Chi Minh City and head for the hills, literally. The
scenic 7 hour drive along Highway 20 to Da Lat will be broken up by stops at
some of the tea and coffee plantations along the way. We will stop for lunch at
the picturesque Dambri falls, about 15km from the highway. Here you may have
your photo taken next to an elephant! Arriving at Da Lat by late to mid
afternoon, there will be an opportunity to take a short walk in the the City of
Eternal Spring. There also will be an opportunity for a short walk to get the
feel of this delightful city. This evening we will head out to one of the fine
restaurants of Da Lat. Overnight in Da Lat.
Day 6: Da Lat (B/L)
In the morning
you enjoy a tour of Da Lat and the surrounding areas. We will begin with a
visit to the Lam Ty Ni pagoda followed by a trip to the Summer Palace of
Vietnam’s last Emperor Bao Dai. From here we visit the rather bizarre and very
aptly named Crazy House. This afternoon, we visit Truc Lam Thien Vien and then
take the short train ride on the Cremaillere railway to the village of Tri Mat.
Overnight in Da Lat.
Day 7: Da Lat - Nha Trang (B/L)
Today you
will take adrive out of Da Lat and back down the Prenn Pass for a stop at the
Chicken village, so-called because of its statue of a chicken, inhabited by the
Koho minority people. From here we will head east and down the Ngoan Muc pass
to the coastal lowlands. Our destination for today is Nha Trang, the country's
premier resort town. This part of the country was once inhabited by an ancient
civilization known as the Cham, and your next stop will be at the Po Klong
Garai Cham tower. This amazing structure, which has endured the test of time,
the elements and indeed war, was built in the 13 th century. You will stop for
a late lunch at Cam Ranh Bay and arrive in Nha Trang by mid to late afternoon.
Check in hotel and enjoy free time. You may also enjoy the night life in Nha
Trang. Overnight in Nha Trang.
Day 8 & 9: Nha Trang beach relax (B)
You have
two free days at leisure in Nha Trang for relaxing and unwinding at the resort
overlooking beautiful Bay. Snorkel or dive among the coral reefs in crystal
blue waters, hike nature trails, cool off in your private plunge pool, indulge
in spa treatments or just relax on the white sand beach and admire the
unspoiled mountain and sea views. Overnight in Nha Trang.
Day 10: Nha Trang - HCMC - Departure (B/L)
This
morning you return to Ho Chi Minh City. The drive will take around 8 hours. On
the way, you will stop at numerous refreshment and comfort stations. Lunch is
scheduled at Phan Thiet. Another interest will be at a farm that grows the
colourful Dragon fruit. Your arrival time in HCMC Airport should be late
afternoon. Good bye and see you again - Cam on va chao tam biet.
Option: You can
fly from Cam Rang airport, Nha Trang to Da Nang, HCMC, or Hanoi.
